God gave life to Natalie and allowed her to live on earth much longer than anyone anticipated. She had spina bifida which took from her the ability to walk. When she was in grade school Natalie would ask, “When will I be able to walk?” The answer was always the same, “When you get to Heaven!” Her dream has been accomplished!

At an early age she was adopted by Ernest and Irene Smith who gave her a rich full life including hot air balloon rides at Smoke Rise, trips to Florida and many camping adventures. She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington where she later publicly professed her faith and was confirmed in 1992. Later that year she graduated from St. Paul Lutheran School. She continued her education at Millington High School where she was very proud to be a member of the High School choir. She graduated from there in 1996.

While Natalie never walked on earth, she did enjoy daily walking with her Lord. Listening to hymns, Christian songs, and online church services as well as worship in person weekly at St. Paul for many years were among her favorite things to do. She appreciated visits from Chaplain Chuck, Pastor Chinery, Randy Bickel, and Pastor Bruner during stays at Wellspring Lutheran Home and most recently at Bavarian Comfort Care. Natalie always had a heart for the handicapped and enjoyed fundraising for the spina bifida foundation.

Natalie was predeceased by her parents, Ernest, and Irene Smith and one brother, Ernest Smith II and one brother-in-law, Carl Hayes. She is survived by her sisters Tiffany Haag-Facemire (Eric), Teresa (Smith) Hayes, Millie Smith and brother James Smith, an Uncle Willard (Carolyn) Petzold, an Aunt Elaine (James) Bickel both of Millington, Uncle Roger and Aunt Sue of Fruitport, MI. and a host of nieces and nephews.
